First contact with combat sports
While in elementary school, Jure trained tae kwon do for a while, but soon redirected himself into basketball and tennis. But his interest in martial arts never wavered, so he soon joined savate trainings, which eventually led him to kickboxing. He enjoys using both his hands and legs. Today, he can’t imagine life without trainings, as they have become part of his being.
Jure as a trainer
Jure as a trainer
Training work represents a challenge to transfer his knowledge to others and teach them what he has learned through years of training. Once he enters the gym he is able to let go, relax his mind and enjoy the training and company of other members. But his greatest satisfaction is his students, when they learn a new skill. He thinks nothing compares to the feeling he gets when he sees the progress at the end of the season. This makes it all worthwhile.
Women and martial arts
Jure says it’s always good to have some female company. It makes the atmosphere of trainings better. One is able to learn how to work gently with girls, which can be an advantage in private life as well, which doesn’t mean that all girls are fragile and should be handled with care. On the contrary, women can be very good in kickboxing and can reach good results.
Are martial arts really mere aggression
He believes training is a great way to release your aggression and if somebody feels the need for this, one soon finds out through training that mere aggression is not enough. And then one can start enjoying the trainings and also view martial arts in a different perspective.
Sports as a way of life
As he says, sport is part of his everyday life. If there happens to be no trainings, he finds other ways to exercise, like running or ball games.
Future plans
His goals and future wishes are to step back inside the ring after a short period of absence and reach the podium. Of course he continues to train his students.
